DORA - San Fracisco Declaration on Research Assessment
Public Statement on the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA)
Academos Journal's Commitment to Responsible Research Assessment
Academos Journal publicly endorses the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and affirms its commitment to responsible, transparent, fair, and merit-based research assessment practices throughout all editorial and peer-review processes.
As an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by the Riste Stefanov Academy (Skopje, North Macedonia), Academos Journal is dedicated to advancing scientific excellence, research integrity, editorial independence, and responsible scholarly communication.
In accordance with the principles of DORA, Academos Journal is committed to the following:
Scientific Quality Above Journal-Based Metrics
Research submitted to Academos Journal is evaluated primarily on the basis of its scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical standards, transparency, and contribution to knowledge, rather than on journal-level metrics or the reputation of the publication venue.
The Journal recognizes that the quality and impact of individual research contributions cannot be adequately represented by a single quantitative indicator and therefore does not use journal impact factors or similar metrics as primary criteria for editorial decision-making.
Independent, Transparent, and Fair Editorial Decisions
Academos Journal ensures that editorial decisions are based solely on the academic merit and relevance of submitted manuscripts. All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted according to principles of fairness, objectivity, confidentiality, and academic integrity.
Editorial decisions are independent and are not influenced by institutional affiliation, geographic location, career stage, publication history, or other non-academic factors.
Research Integrity and Ethical Publishing
Academos Journal promotes responsible research conduct, ethical publishing practices, transparency, and accountability throughout the research and publication process.
The Journal is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and continuously improving its editorial policies in accordance with internationally recognized principles and best practices in scholarly publishing.
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusiveness
Academos Journal welcomes contributions from researchers worldwide and values diversity of perspectives, disciplines, methodologies, and research contexts.
The Journal supports equal opportunities for authors and encourages the participation of researchers at different career stages, including early-career scholars, while maintaining rigorous standards of scientific quality.
Recognition of Diverse Research Contributions
Academos Journal recognizes the importance of diverse forms of scholarly contributions, including original research articles, review papers, theoretical studies, methodological contributions, case studies, policy analyses, and interdisciplinary research.
The Journal values research that contributes not only to academic advancement but also to addressing regional, national, and global challenges.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Academos Journal is committed to continuously reviewing and strengthening its editorial policies, peer-review procedures, and publication practices in alignment with the principles of DORA and internationally recognized standards for responsible research assessment.
Through this commitment, Academos Journal aims to contribute to a more transparent, inclusive, and trustworthy research environment where scholarly work is evaluated according to its intrinsic quality, significance, and contribution to science and society.
